You’ll arrive in Ha Giang the night before your tour starts. Meet others doing the loop with you, grab some food at the taco restaurant next door and get some rest at our hostel in the shared dorm

  • Start your day with breakfast at the hostel. If you haven’t already, here’s the chance to meet the other people on your group.

  • We’ll run through the itinerary with you and explain each stop (if you’ve not paid your final balance now’s the time for that, we’ll also confirm your return bus journeys with you in person).

  • You’ll meet your easy rider (if you have requested one) and begin the tour!

  • First stop is village viewpoints - enjoy the view looking over a small village from a far.

  • Mountain viewpoint -  this stop makes for one of the best photos on the loop

  • Du Gia Waterfall - this is a fantastic spot to swim (and jump), enjoy a few drinks and relax after your first day.

  • When you’ve finished, you’ll head to your homestay and check in to your private rooms and then enjoy a family dinner.

Day 1: Ha Giang – Du Gia (80km)

Day 2: Du Gia – Dong Van (100km)

  • Yên minh pine forest: After a good night’s sleep in a cozy Du Gia homestay, we’ll continue our journey driving through lush Yen Minh pine forest. A true opposite to the grey city!

  • Bamboo boat float: We’ll immerse ourselves even more into nature by riding Bamboo boats down the river. On those traditional boats, we’ll explore a remarkable cave on Ngọc Long River with possibility to swim.

  • Hmong coffee shop:   This coffee shop has a great vibe and even a better view, enjoy a Vietnamese coffee here.

  • Sky walk: Maybe the best view of the whole loop, you’ll get the chance to walk out onto the sky walk if you’re feeling brave (please be careful here!)

  • Đồng Văn city center: enjoy a walk around in the evening. Lots of old buildings, pubs, street food and if you’re lucky maybe a bonfire with the locals in the city center.

Day 3: Dong Van – Quan Ba (84km)

  • Moon rock: many Hmong people live around this site, truly does feel like being on the moon. We will grab lunch around here too

  • We will visit an ancient Hmong village nearby the border, which will give you a better insight into the lives of local people.

  • Want to visit China? Whilst you won’t actually get to step foot in the neighboring country, we do visit the border

  • Check into your homestay and take a walk around a village that belongs to Dao people this will give you a very unique experience as all of the houses are made from mud, and so will your accomodation! This will be one to remember!

Day 4 : Quan Ba – Ha Giang (80km)

The final day is filled with yet more unforgettable viewpoints, landscapes and rural villages. It’s a long day of driving, but you won’t want it to end!

  • Lùng Khúy cave: considered the most beautiful caves of Ha Giang Rocky Plateau with geomorphology, geology, stalactites in strange shapes

  • Twin mountains: a lovely sight to behold from the road, over the well-shaped twin mountain lying in middle of a green valley.

  • Heaven gate - a busy coffee shop on the loop and with good reason, enjoy the fantastic views and meet other groups doing the loop.

  • Hidden waterfall - one of our favorites and one that not many tours cover, enjoy another waterfall where you can swim (and jump) and take in the powerful force of this massive waterfall.

  • Coffee view point - you’ll have covered a lot of ground by now, stretch your legs and enjoy your final coffee of the loop

  • You’ll return to Road Kings Office where you’ll sadly say goodbye to your awesome guide, easy riders and new-found friends.

The loop may be subject to change or done in reverse depending on availability and group size.

What’s the difference between the 3 and 4 day tours?

The 3 and 4 day routes follow the same path for the first 3 days, then the 4 day tour will continue onto Lùng Khúy cave, Twin mountains, a biggest hidden waterfall on the loop and of course a couple of coffee shops along the way. The homestay on the third night is a lot of peoples favorite, it’s the most traditional of our homestays along the route.
